Kwame Brown – A Truly Free Black Man: America’s Worst Nightmare or America’s Last Hope?

It’s past time for America to have some very uncomfortable conversations.

The more society drifts from the truth the more it will hate those who speak it. Kwame Brown, former NBA #1 pick, has gone from long-forgotten “draft bust” to one of the most important voices of the moment, a welcomed glitch in the matrix of virtue signaling and drive-by activism of the past year. His bold but necessary delivery has been refreshing to say the least. Kwame Brown and not Kwame’, like ESPN shuck-and-jive master “Screamin’ A Smith” has so disrespectfully called him in the past, has simply orated what more than a few people have been thinking for ages and now a sleeping giant has awakened in the public’s mind space and his name is Kwame Brown!

The former #1 Overall NBA Draft Selection has in the recent weeks gone from a retired and forgotten NBA player to leader of a conscious rebellion against “woke” culture and the lamestream sports media and shining example of what damage a strong black man can do to the house of cards we call the establishment. Brown made history as the first NBA player to go # 1 straight out of high school when Michael Jordan’s Washington Wizards drafted him in 2001. While he did not mature into a Hall of Fame-bound player such as other straight-from-school players like Kobe Bryant or Kevin Garnett, the expectation was for Brown to be equivalent to Jermaine O’Neal or fellow draft mate  Tyson Chandler.

When Brown turned out to be neither of those things, he became an easy target for “all-time draft busts” lists, clickbait posts on social media, inspiration for this Stephen A Smith rant, and an argument for bringing back the NBA age limit. Brown has been shown no mercy for two decades, never mind the fact that he was drafted by the person widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time and actually getting to play alongside him as an 18-year-old sounds like a fairy tale right? Wrong. Michael Jeffery Jordan is the idol of almost every kid growing up in the 80s and 90s. Imagine a Mcdonald’s All-American basketball player with limitless potential finding out that MJ is also the world’s biggest assholes!

Not all men who wear capes are heroes.

It hasn’t been lost on me that Jordan, a father of three at the time, couldn’t mentor this young man in a less destructive fashion . The fact that the media and the general public sat and watched this young man be publicly castrated for the world to see has always sat wrong with me. One of the main reasons that I have never been a fan of Jordan is his treatment of Kwame Brown, so many have torn this young man down in a way a lesser man would have been broken. I have often wondered how a man that played 13 years is considered an all-out failure and conversely never been given credit for holding it together. He has before now NEVER responded to jokes about him, even by fellow players in media, such as “All The Smoke” a show hosted by selective activist Stephen Jackson and “NBA Tough” guy Matt Barnes.

For 20 years pundits like Steven A Smith, Skip Bayless, and numerous others have brought up this man’s name taking the lazy way out to justify their “analytical” skills and now Kwame Brown has the blessing of America to sever their heads with his mommas cooking. The drama started on All the Smoke when Laker owner Jeanie Buss was going over the history of the Pau Gasol trade, Matt Barnes tapped Jackson to make a joke about Brown. Buss failed to acknowledge their lame joke and finished her statement. The most telling part of that scenario is the former players and fellow men of color have less regard for their fellow brother than Ms. Buss and have all taken softer stances on players such and Adam Morrison and Andrea Bargnani, which is telling.

The phoenix rises from the ashes to become an instant legend.

As we all know, over the past few weeks, Kwame Brown took to YouTube and madness ensued. This brother not only responded, but totally exposed a culture of media that is built  to feast on the reputation of black men, most of the time by other black men. The Stephen A Smiths and Charlemagne the Gods of the world are given their platform to do the dirty work for the establishment and Major media outlets.

A new day is upon us now. The public realizes what Hoteps BEEN Told You -America’s biggest fear is a truly free black man! In the past few days, the narrative has been a mixture of first being too big to respond and hoping the situation blows over to transitioning into having to go full panic mode. Stephen Jackson, our resident gangbanger-slash-activist-slash-NBA-pundit goes from positive to threatening Kwame Brown and his family in text according to Mr. Brown.

Brown labeled Matt Barnes a tragic mulatto and Arenas an Uncle Tom who perpetuated  the bust narrative by being an asshole and terrible teammate on the Wizards. Brown further suggested the podcast try discussing bigger problems instead of rehashing his career. So of course Barnes and Jackson doubled down by being more disrespectful and then posting a video challenging Brown to a fight. Which is laughable because we all know ”Becky wit da good hair,” as Kwame so hilariously quipped, doesn’t want “any of the smoke.” Ironic.

Charlamagne the God attempted to respond and protect his Breakfast Club brand, but then was ceremoniously dragged by the culture and his hometown and was the only smart person on this list. He tried to walk his statements back and step out of the line fire of the wrecking ball of truth named Kwame Brown with this quote from his nationally syndicated  morning show The Breakfast Club:        

“Since I unintentionally caused trauma, I need to be intentional about causing healing.”

Charlamagne Tha God is taking the high road after making comments about former NBA player Kwame Brown. The radio host gave himself his infamous “Donkey of the Day” award on Monday for making comments about Brown’s family, per Complex.

“I’m saying all that to say, leave Kwame alone. That man has been quiet for twenty years, he don’t bother nobody. Clearly all that ‘he’s a bust up’ gets to him. You don’t know what people are going through or have been through.”

The 42-year-old host said Brown’s father attacked his girlfriend with an ax handle, buried her alive, and is currently serving life in prison for it. He also said Brown’s brother attempted suicide after shooting the mother of his child several times. He added another one of Brown’s siblings is also serving time for murder. Once Brown caught wind of the comments, he allegedly started to resurface rumors of rape allegations against Charlamagne. The host reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to Brown.

“I’m sure I caused pain for not only Kwame Brown but for his family—‘specially, his family in my hometown of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. You know how I know? Because I spoke to a few of them. I was apologizing for triggering them.”

Stephen A Smith responded on Instagram, promising to address the issue in full during his ESPN+ show. The “Mic Drop” segment then featured several lowlights for Brown’s career, featuring numerous clips of dropped passes.

“I’ve got 15 minutes [of bad clips], I only showed you one.”

He continued to rip Brown as a player, clarifying that it’s his job to critique poor performances on the basketball court. That didn’t work. Now you have Stephen A Smith, who at first said nothing and now looks to be in a fight for his credibility and his career, with this weak and redundant display Thursday on his show Stephen A Smith’s World posting a montage of clips from Kwame’s playing days, some of which while he was injured! Doubling down on his stance which shows that he along with the rest of the “Go Along to Get Along Gang” are missing the mark.

We don’t care. It is  bigger than a game.

The gems Kwame is dropping are about their real character and their real-or some would say fake-life and persona. Kwame Brown is also taking on the heroic task of addressing the issues facing the black community and America. Between the vitriol and funny roasts, Kwame Brown is speaking truth to power and showing that the most dangerous person to the status quo is a financially free and mentally strong black man not beholden to a team or major media outlet. Kwame Brown is the poster child for the new Jianchor slogan “become uncancelable,” or better yet, “become cancel proof.” You can’t control a man who doesn’t need anything from you.

The establishment  can’t control a man who has everything he wants and isn’t concerned about material things or fame. It’s impossible to dim the light of this “Hall of Fame” shit talker and champion of public opinion. Now the spot light is on the likes of Stephen A Smith, who once threatened Kevin Durant on national TV like the a mafia boss of sorts stating “you don’t want to make a enemy of me.“ That was, and still is, the biggest joke since he was filmed hitting the pads with his boxing trainer last year. A Stephen a is a man who claimed to be Allen Iverson’s friend and then stabbed him in the back multiple times . A man who disrespected numerous players in an aggressive manner and then hid behind the protection of ESPN. Other players haven’t challenged Stephen A Smith because of their unwillingness to lose opportunities off the court. Kwame has challenged Stephen A to “mutual combat,”  but Stephen A has ignored that part of the conversation.

Putting Kwame Brown’s life and career in its proper perspective.

Kwame Brown has always been a man’s man and a success where it counts – as a family man and person. This is a guy who bought his momma her first house at 18 years old, grew up poor and grew up without a father. The product of a broken family, who overcame homelessness, grew up on free lunch programs, wore hand-me-down clothes, couldn’t afford shoes big enough for his  enormous feet, and who came from a town that has gained infamy as the site of Ahmaud Arbery’s murder. He started nearly half of his 625 career games and averaged 22 minutes during his days on the court. He played 13 seasons and was regarded as a great low post defender. He traded three times and grossed more than $63M in career earnings. Brown looks more like a great American success story than an entry for the all-time bust slideshow. His life should be a movie.

He is courage in its purest form. This is one of the most historic stories of redemption I’ve seen. I watched every video and will continue to cheer on this example of what a real man is. So to Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless, and all other talking heads, your days of tearing down brothers for your personal and professional gain is coming to an end. The playing field has been evened out! Kwame is a person who was minding his own business and felt compelled to defend himself and we are all the better for it.

Kwame Brown has started a master class on YouTube on the importance of being a man raising your family. Kwame also sets a shining example that black men are worth more than our bodies to make billionaire team owners more money. In one of his earlier YouTube videos, he speaks on violence against your own kind and shows it is foolish and wack. He encouraged young men to look back on the lessons that your momma taught you and be a stand-up individual. And most of all, keeping their pride as a man. Own yourself, my friends. Kwame Brown has been a one man army, funny that a show called All The Smoke wanted none of the smoke when someone pushed back on them! The day of the Geechee is upon us and this day belongs to Kwame  Brown.
